Interoception - Our Internal Dashboard Explained for Schools
Interoception is our internal dashboard, telling us if we feel too hot, hungry or thirsty, feel pain anywhere, or feel anxious, angry or excited. Understanding what these signals mean can help students to take to action to keep themselves feeling physically comfortable and emotionally regulated - and ready to learn..
Sensory-Based Behaviour in the Classroom
This free guide introduces you to sensory processing, explains what sensory-based behaviour looks like in the classroom, and offers you actionable, easy strategies to make your school more inclusive of all students’ sensory needs.
An Advanced Practitioner in Sensory Integration says:
“Teachers often ask me if their student, who doesn’t have an autism diagnosis, can have sensory problems.
"I reply, absolutely! We all experience the world through our senses. For some people, including those without other diagnoses, the way that their brain and body handle and make sense of sensory input can cause challenges when completing daily tasks. That’s why learning more about sensory processing and how it affects behaviour benefits all students, regardless of diagnoses including autism or ADHD."
For the month of June only, the annual licence for any Sensory Inclusive Schools package purchased will be automatically extended to 31st July 2025 at no extra charge – giving you peace of mind you’ll have access to all the SIS services available in your package for the whole of the 2024/2025 academic year.
No special code is needed to secure the licence extension to 31st July 2025 – this will be automatically added to any SIS licence or package purchased throughout June 2024.
