Sensory Inclusive Schools is an OT-led training and support service for schools, built on more than 30 years of sensory integration expertise. We exist to make sensory-inclusive practice accessible, practical, and sustainable for every school.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give every school the knowledge, tools, and support to make sensory inclusion part of everyday practice — so every learner can participate, regulate, and thrive.

For Staff and Schools

We give teachers and TAs a shared language and practical strategies they can use from day one — without needing a clinical background. We help school leaders embed a consistent, evidence-based approach across classrooms, corridors, and key routines — not just for individual pupils.

For Students

We believe no child should miss out on learning because their sensory needs aren't understood. Our training helps schools catch and respond to those needs earlier.

Beth Smithson

Director of Lifelong Learning

Beth is an accomplished Occupational Therapist and Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner.

Beth qualified as an Advanced SI Practitioner with SIE in 2016 and has since applied sensory integration across the NHS, schools, community trusts, and international settings. As Director of Lifelong Learning, she leads SIE's CPD offer and the Sensory Inclusion Facilitator Certificate — committed to empowering clinicians, parents, and schools to advocate confidently for sensory integration practice.

Sensory Inclusive Schools (SIS) is part of Sensory Integration Education (SIE), a not-for-profit organisation with over 30 years of experience leading training in sensory integration for health, education, and care professionals.
