Sensory Help Now: Free Sensory Support For Parents & Carers
By Sensory Inclusive Schools, 29 February 2024
Sensory Help Now is an amazing free resource that schools can share with parents and carers to help them better understand and support their children’s sensory needs at home.
Complementing the work that your school is doing to take into account students’ unique sensory profiles, Sensory Help Now teaches parents and carers how to view behaviour from a sensory perspective and use practical sensory strategies at home.
Sensory Help Now: A Supportive Community and Reliable Resources for Families
Parents and carers can put their questions directly to a sensory integration trained HCPC therapist in the Sensory Help Now Forum. It’s also a safe space to talk with other families going through the same experiences. Families can also access a range of free resources and short videos offering simple actionable advice.
A Gift from Sensory Integration Education
This vital support service is being supplied free by the parent organisation for Sensory Inclusive Schools - Sensory Integration Education (SIE). SIE is providing the service at no cost to families in celebration of its 30th birthday. SIE is a UK-based not-for-profit organisation.
Rosalind Rogers, Chair of Sensory Integration Education, said,
“At SIE, we understand the importance of having a supportive community and reliable resources. That's why, in celebration of our 30th birthday, we are ensuring that the Sensory Help Now service is accessible to all families, completely free of charge. This initiative embodies our vision to change the lives of people with sensory processing and integration differences.”
Please Share This Free Resource With Your School’s Families
We invite you to share this downloadable Sensory_Help_Now_Flyer.pdf with your school’s families and display it on your school notice board. Our aim is that as many families as possible can benefit from a greater understanding of how to support their children’s sensory needs: www.sensoryhelpnow.org.
A better understanding of sensory needs amongst your school’s families will also support the work you are doing within school to be more inclusive of students with sensory processing differences.
